PHI 100: Introduction to Philosophy
What does it mean to live a good life? How do we know what is true? Is beauty universal, or just in the eye of the beholder? Philosophy is about asking — and learning to answer — these big questions.
In this course, you will explore the main branches of philosophy — metaphysics, epistemology, logic, ethics, and aesthetics — while meeting great thinkers from Socrates and Plato to Kant and Sartre. Along the way, you’ll sharpen your skills in critical thinking, reasoning, and self-reflection.
Philosophy is not just theory — it’s a toolkit for life. By the end of the course, you’ll be able to see through shallow arguments, express your ideas with clarity, and develop your own “philosophy of life.”
