This is a General Education core course which is compulsory for all students and should be taken in year 1. This course requires understanding of the basic mathematical concepts, their application and the ability to express these concepts clearly with logical reasoning. It is designed to build on this to bring the student’s mathematics to ‘college’ level, providing a solid foundation of understanding of mathematics for all disciplines, and as a platform for further study of mathematics.
