A social skill is any competence facilitating interaction and communication with others where social rules and relations are created, communicated, and changed in verbal and nonverbal ways. The process of learning these skills is called socialization. Lack of such skills can cause social awkwardness.

This is a one semester course designed to improve students' interactions with others. Various life situations are explored and the students are encouraged to develop their own personal values and attitudes.

This unit is intent on covering major hazards in welding and show how to achieve a safe working condition for the welder and those who share the work space.
